IIFA 2018 was Owned by Rekha and Vidya Balan

iifa 2018The 19th edition of IIFA was filled with Glamour and style and with power pack performances. Bangkok was dazzled by the performances of Varun Dhawan, Ranbir Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Lulia Vantur, Arjun Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Kriti Sanon. The pinnacle of the day was the performance by Rekha which mesmerized everyone, that too when she performed after 21 years of long break. She was so charismatic that every star came on the stage to groove with her. While the hosts of the award night were Kartik Aryaan and Aayushman Khuranna


iifa 2018Late star Sridevi won the Best Actress Award for the movie “MOM” whereas Irrfan Khan won the Best Actor Award for “Hindi Medium”. While collecting Sri’s award Boney Kapoor said: “I have mixed emotions today, I miss her every minute and second of my life”. While the best movie award was bagged by “Tumhari Pyaari Sulu” where Vidhya Balan plays a role of housewife turned RJ. Sulu all total bagged 7 nominations in IIFA awards. The turntable of the event was that organizers chose to lay green carpet instead of red to generate awareness for Environment.

  • Best Background Score: Pritam (Jagga Jasoos)
  • Best Screenplay: Nitesh Tiwari, Shreyas Jain (Bareilly Ki Barfi)
  • Best Playback Singer Female: Meghna Mishra (Main Kaun Hoon – Secret Superstar)
  • Best Playback singer-Male: Arijit Singh (Hawayein – Jab Harry Met Sejal)
  • Best Lyrics: Nusrat Fateh Ali, A1 Melody Fana & Manoj Muntashir (Mere Rashke Qamar – Baadshaho)
  • Best Choreography: Vijay Ganguly and Ruel Dausan Varindani (Galti Se Mistake – Jagga Jasoos)
